Orchard Houses are part of Fred Nicholson School. There are four different buildings that make up the Orchard provision; Orchard Lodge, Orchard Pod, Orchard House and Orchard Class. The number of pupils, educated in each area, ranges from three to six, ensuring a safe and consistent environment.
There are a number of factors that go in to identifying a suitable building for a pupil, including age, learning stage and area of need. Each specialised area has areas of low stimulus for self-regulation and communal areas where our autistic children can develop their social skills. There are also specially developed spaces with the Orchard areas for our children to acquire sensory feedback including: trampolines, open fields and sensory rooms.
